Hi there,

Our company is rebuilding the application in JAVA using SmartGWT framework. We are evaluating automation testing tool for it. Does Sahi support SamrtGWT?

    Sohel77,

    We have not checked this, but it should work. Try it out on your application, and if you face any problems let us know, and we will fix it for you.

  • Hi Narayan,

    Thanks for your reply. I will definitely try Sahi on our first build and let you know.

  • Hello Narayan,
    I am also in the same situation as Sohel77. I was evaluating Sahi for a project being done on SmartGWT and i am having some issues in locating elements on the UI. I would like to know if Sahi supports SmartGWT. Could either of you please let me know.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,

    Yes Sahi supports SmartGWT. (Redhat is using Sahi with SmartGWT and this is what they think: http://sahi.co.in/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2582)

    There are 2-3 problems that you may encounter

    1) Images may be recognized as their mousedOver version.
    Eg.
    _click(_image("right_Over.png"));
    should be corrected in script to
    _click(_image("right.png"));

    2) Some cell based buttons may not be clicked correctly, in which case you may need to use _xy()
    Eg.
    _click(_cell("Definitions"));
    may need to be modified to
    _click(_xy(_cell("Definitions"), 3, 3));

    3) It is possible that some response with incorrect content-type headers may need to be added to exclude_inject.txt

    4) Double click on some elements may not work, which we are currently investigating.

    If you want, drop us a mail at support@sahi.co.in from your company email id and one of our team members will setup an online meeting and guide you.

    Regards,
    Narayan
  • Yes ... as Narayan mentions ... Sahi works with smartGWT (much better than Selenium with smartGWT ...which was a tad painful).

    Please continue to post any smartGWT-specific questions/issues ... I am interested in what issues you encounter, if any.

  • Hello Narayan/Mike,
    Thanks a lot for your response. This is really a good news to us. Based on the requirements for automation i had narrowed down on JsUnit based Jasmin and Sahi. My first option was to evaluate Sahi. And from what i read from Mike's experience, i think i got my answer to automation. In the coming days i will work with Sahi and will take the help of your immense forum knowledge. In case of problem i will contact Sahi support.

    Thanks again,
    Vivek
