Is proxy server settings needed?

I am able to run Sahi V 3.5 without configuring my browser for proxy setting. What is the use of proxy server then? I use firefox 3.6.13.

When you start Sahi for the first time, by default 10 different profiles are created at
C:\Sahipro\userdata\browser\ff\profiles. And all those profiles are preconfigured with Sahi proxy
