EMC Documentum Check out for Edit problems

I am testing a very customized EMC Documentum Webtop application and ran into problems with Check Out for Edit. This launches some Documentum Code and when running under Sahi this gives me a security error. If I have a link, say 'Edit', is there anyway to select the link and then have Sahi stay out of the way and let the link do whatever it needs. In this case it downloads and then opens a Word document.
