    Hi,

It's becoz of OS bit version, we have to install the java based on our OS version like 32/ 64 bit.
While installing java we have to install with respect to our OS bit(32/ 64).
If our OS is 32-bit then we have to install 32-bit java otherwise have to install 64-bit java

How to identify which bit OS:

Open C driver, check how many program files folders are there,
if it contains 2 programfiles folders then it is 64-bit, if it contains only 1 programfiles folder then it is 32-bit OS

hope it will be helpful for you

  • You were correct gaveyom, thank you so much!

Apparently Java's site selects 32 bit by default and I'm running Win7x64
