Sahi PRO Resetting IE Proxy Settings

OS = Windows XP service pack 3
Browser = Internet Explorer 8
Sahi Build: Sahi Pro 4.3
Version : 4.3
Build : 2012-08-05 23:57:24

I set my proxy settings in Internet explorer as follows:

I then start Sahi Pro dashboard and close it. Afterward, my proxy settings have reverted to the following:

How do I stop it from reverting? If possible, I would like to set my proxy settings once and never change it and I do not want Sahi to interfere. Either that, or having Sahi automatically set the correct proxy settings at the start of an automated test suite would work. This problem is preventing me from scheduling regular test suite executions when I am not present, because IE won't load the right pages if it doesn't have the proxy set.

    In addition, I would like to know what Sahi/tools/proxy_config.exe and Sahi/tools/back_proxy_config.exe do, if anyone can explain.
  • In case anyone is experiencing similar, I may have discovered a work-around:
    Do not close the dashboard. Instead, close the Sahi Pro command prompt window. This will also exit the dashboard, but it seems to do so without changing any IE proxy settings.
  • I am facing the same issue. I am wondering do we need to pass any argument when we use Proxy_config.exe?

    Hi,

    Did you restart the browser once you closed the sahi dashboard/ command prompt?

    Sahi updates the proxy settings once you launch it from dashboard, and if you close only the dashboard/command prompt the proxy settings for the browser will not be reverted. Or in other words, sahi on exit updates the proxy settings to earlier state and you need to close the browser and open it for the change to get reflected.

    Thanks!
